Nicola Tagliafierro

Nicola Tagliaferro is the creator of the Sustainability Boosting Program, a framework for accelerating circular innovation, validated by Columbia University in 2022.

A recognized voice in circular economy innovation, Tagliaferro was the first Italian selected for the First Movers Fellowship at the Aspen Institute. He also contributes to European industry transformation as lead of the Sustainability Thematic Working Group within the Batteries European Partnership Association.

He began his career in corporate finance in London before joining Eni, where he worked on the launch of EniPower and on strategy and planning for the global Gas & Power division. He later joined Enel, focusing on energy markets and the structuring of long-term renewable contracts, before moving into sustainability leadership.

Alongside his corporate role, Tagliaferro is an entrepreneur, author, and educator. He is co-author of Circular Economy Manager (Hoepli) and serves as Scientific Director of the Circular Economy Management Master at the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability (EIIS). His work focuses on building new models of sustainable value creation, combining circularity, technology, and behavioral change.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Energy from Stoa Business School.
