Full Professor of Electronic Bioengineering and Computer Science at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) of Politecnico di Milano. He served as President of the Biomedical Engineering Course and Director of the Department of Bioengineering of the Politecnico of which he was one of the Founding Members. He is responsible for the BB and B (Biosignals, Bioimages and Bioinformatics) Laboratory of DEIB. He is currently a member of the Advisory Committee of IEEE-Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, the world’s largest scientific society in the field of Biomedical Engineering.He is the author of over 500 scientific publications and in 2009 he was presented with the prestigious IEEE-EMBS Academic Career Achievement Award.
