Michele Migliore

Michele Migliore is a physicist who studies brain functions and dysfunctions through simulations. He has been working in Palermo since 1983, where he leads the Computational Neuroscience group of the Institute of Biophysics of the CNR. He collaborates with several international institutions, and is visiting scientist at the Department of Neurobiology of Yale University (USA), and visiting professor of Cybernetics at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Palermo. He has published over 90 papers in international journals. His scientific activity is focused on the study of neurons and their circuits to understand the biophysical mechanisms underlying high-level cognitive functions, such as memory, learning, perception and, more generally, the mechanisms of encoding and transmitting information in the brain.
