Luciano Pietronero

He is Full Professor of Condensed Matter Physics and he has been President of the Historical Museum of Physics and Enrico Fermi Study and Research Center since 2019. He graduated in Physics in 1971 in Rome. He then moved to the Xerox Research Center Webster in New York and later to the Brown Boveri Research Center, where he remained until 1983. After that he moved to the Department of Physics at the University of Groningen where he served as professor of Solid State Physics until 1987. In 2007 he acted as chairman of the 23rd edition of the STATPHYS conference held in Genoa, and in 2008 he won the Enrico Fermi Prize, the most important prize conferred by the Italian Physical Society.
