Raffaella Ida Rumiati

Raffaella Rumiati is Full Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Cognitive Neuroscience at SISSA, Trieste. Her scientific publication record counts more than 100 peer reviewed publications in international scientific journals, but she is also been publishing in newspapers and magazines. In 2003, she received the Bessel Prize (von HumboldtStiftung) and in 2006 the Women in Cognitive Science Mentorship Award for her support to female young investigator. For many years she studied the interaction between the motor system, language and cognition, while recently she has focused mainly on the study of mental operations and brain correlates associated with perception, categorization and choice of food.
