Full Professor of Byzantine Philology and History of Byzantine Christianity at Ca’ Foscari University, he is the President of the Italian Association of Byzantine Studies (AISB). Prof. Rigo studies literature and religious history of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine periods, along with the literary, philosophical, scientific and theological production in Greek in the humanistic era and during the Turcocracy. He also focuses on the theological, philosophical and ascetic production in the age of Enlightenment and in the years of Greek independence. See CV complete.
