He is the David & Inez Myers Professor in Computational Neuroscience and former director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Neural Computation (ICNC) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He initiated the prestigious international EU course in Computational Neuroscience. His research team utilizes computational and theoretical tools to study how neurons, compute and dynamically adapt to our ever-changing environment. In recent years, his research team engaged in an endeavor to develop a computer model of a whole piece of the mammalian cortex His work has been published in the most renowned international journals and he has received numerous awards, including that of “best teacher” in international courses on the brain.
